NANS AND NLC AGREE TO WORK TOGETHER TO RESOLVE ISSUES IN EDUCATION SECTOR
The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Mr Olusola Ladoja led the executives of the association to pay a courtesy visit on the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Joe Ajaero at the Labour House on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
The two executives lamented the parlous state of education and growing insecurity in hostels, especially armed robbery incidences.
They observed that technological development is contingent upon good education and students are the greatest beneficiaries of good education.
They accordingly agreed to work together to resolve the challenges in the education sector that continue to impede progress and development including urging government to honour its agreements with the unions in the sector and funding of education to meet the threshold of 26% of the national budget budget as recommended by UNESCO.
They noted that certain agencies of government such as NNDC ought to have done better especially in interventions in education.
