OUR HEARTS ARE WITH YOU
We would like to commiserate with the government and people of Kano State, especially, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on the tragic death of 22 athletes and sports managers from Kano barely 50 kilometres to Kano on their way from the National Games at Abeokuta.
These were young people who had their lives brutally cut short in their prime.
Our hearts are with their inconsolable families and friends who are yet to come to terms with this cruel reality.
While we pray for the repose of their souls, we demand for a thorough investigation (in order to avert a similar crash) even as most of them perished in the tragic crash.
Was it a technical failure? Was it driver-fatigue? Was it reckless driving. Was it something else?
Investigation should go all the way to the source of take-off…immediate and possibly, remote causes. Among those to be questioned should be the Transport Officer, fellow drivers etc.
